The Lunch Addict - Desoto Snow and Creamery

I like to think of myself as an artistic person. I work in the architecture field where we design beautiful buildings for people to inhabit. Sometimes in that world, the the design gods just conspire against an idea. I'm afraid this review may fall into that category. I apologize in advance for MY shortfalls.

I made a trip down to Desoto Snow and Creamery for a belated birthday gift to myself, their WORLD FAMOUS SKILLET COOKIE! Ok, it may not be worId famous...yet, but it sure needs to be. That cookie is fantabulous, amazing, delicious, and any other positive adjective I can think/make up to describe it. Unfortunately, I'm only going to have words to describe the moment of joy I experienced while eating that cookie. I got it with a scoop of coffee ice cream and a healthy dose of caramel, but without a nice photograph to make you turn into the cookie monster screaming MUST HAVE COOKIE! like I did in the store. Thankfully I got there kind of late and not many people got to see me do my happy dance in the parking lot while eating my cookie.

This blog is named Lunch Addict, because...I have a slight addiction to good food, but I might have to change it to Cookie Monster after my birthday gift from the Desoto Snow and Creamery.

Monica, you are doing some amazing things down there. Of course the food is out of this world, but you are also doing a great job of training your staff. I quizzed one of your staff members about how the skillet cookies were made, what makes a snow ball a "New Orleans" style snowball, how often you serve king cakes, and several other sweet lines of questioning. I asked a lot of questions and she handled them like a pro, and always with an informative, but quick funny answer.

After discussing the finer points of a "New Orleans" style snowball vs. a regular snow cone, I may have to let my addiction take over and head back down your way to get a snow ball. (If you are curious, a New Orleans style snow ball is different from a traditional snow cone because of the ice. It is super light and fluffy...like an actual snow ball.

Hopefully next time I will get there before closing so i can get some good photos to make you say "MUST HAVE COOKIE!" Thanks for feeding me and my addiction! Can't wait to see you again.

If you want to get your hands on one of those skillet cookies, New Orleans style snowballs, some tasty ice cream, or just ask the staff a couple questions...you can pay them a visit at:
